Divine Love

by

Deena

They lit up my life

As the stars do the sky

One after another

Till I had to say ‘bye.

I’d stare into their eyes

And they into mine

A loving connection

I always did find.

I knew by their actions

That they felt it too

It made me believe that

My dreams could come true.

They did not care about my looks

Not big, nor plain, nor fat.

They gave of their love freely

I was surprised by that.

They lay by me when I was ill

Or whenever I was sad.

And in my lonely, friendless world

They were all the comfort I had.

There were my Spirit Angels

Sent down from Heaven above.

I could not have lasted all those years

Without their precious love.

Although they were not human

Those furry friends of mine

They were the answer to my prayers

Proof of His love, divine.
