Morning Sun

by

Chinedu Uba

It was like the Morning Sun
That you appeared
Like the Morning Rose,
That you blossomed
It was like a blazing star
That you shone
And like lightening,
You struck me.

When it all began,
The moon and the stars fought,
And they later smiled
The old African days were so golden in sight
And then,
Like a tragedy, with no warning,
You departed.

I certainly may not be the best available,
But I could be the best of my best
And you like a shinning Princess,
Could be the best thing in my life
And so it could be,
because you are in me, no doubt.
Believe me
Please!
