I Tried

by

Chantel Rasmussen

I tried to tell you it was over,

I tried to explain that we were done,

You just wouldn't hear of it,

you said we were still in love,

I tried not to break your heart,

Though you were breaking mine,

I tried my best not to hurt you,

Though it tormented me inside, I know I promised to all ways love you,

I know I promised to be by your side,

I know I broke that promise,

But baby at least I tried, You said you couldn't live with out me,

You said you need me to survive,

You said I was your one true love,

I'M SORRY; at least I tried,

You took your problems out on me,

And said it was my fault,

You took on your whole family,

And said it was my call, Everyday was a fight,

Just to be together,

Everyday was too stressful,

Just to last forever,

I know what we had was special,

I know what we had was good,

I tried my best to make it last,

Although I never could,

You taught me a new kind of love,

The kind that doesn't always bring pain,

But at the same time it did hurt,

And why it did drove me insane,

I'm sorry I hurt you like I did,

I didn't intend to do so,

I'M SO SORRY BENJI,

But I have to let you go.
