Dying Earth

by

Carey Lenehan

Poisoned is the air we breath
Poison in the living sea
Poisoned lives and shattered dreams
Poisoned are the plans we scheme

Poisoned forests, poisoned lands
Sad and sickened by our hand
Tired, abused the world still turns
But poisonous man will never learn

Clean the beaches, clean the skies
Clean our minds, or at least try
Change our hearts and free this world,
This iridescent, special pearl.
