You're Ugly Inside

Angela Lee Annette

I come across a total stranger,
looking at me with growing anger.
The hurt I feel I try to hide,
but silently I scream inside.
It's not fair and it's not right,
the way your bitter and full of spite.

I feel your rage as it starts to grow,
Why you hate me I'll never know.
You sneer at me and start to laugh,
as you move deliberately in my path.
I stare at you and shake my head,
because I know your heart is dead.

I turn around and walk away,
keeping bitter tears at bay.
I hold my head up and refuse to cry,
you won't see my pain, I'd rather die.
I swallow my sorrow and replace it with pride
because I'm not like you,
ugly inside.
