On the outside

by

Amanda Wagner

Outside the world of our culture is where i belong
Alone and peaceful
Nobody can touch me and ruin what i believe
What is true to me may confuse you
The stars all around me bright as can be
They let me know that they do not judge me
But love me for who i am
Being me is so very confusing with all the people looking
Looking only at my face and body structure
Not at my intelligence and inner beauty
The things that count are no longer here
My beauty, my body, my heart
Does anyone care anymore,
That our culture is wrong and deceiving to the naked eye?
Your sarcasm is not far from the truth
But even closer to lying to yourself
Looking down from the stars everything looks so peaceful
Even though we ! all know we are like ant's
In an ant hill building, making things larger
But there is one total difference
Every ant is family and all love one another
But us we cant even trust out neighbors
