Not Here

by

Alisha Morgan

I wonder what you'd say
If I were no longer here.
Would it be "It's such a sad day,"
Or, "It's a shame she wanted to disappear?"

Would you comment on what I said last,
Maybe tell a funny story about that one time...
Or, perhaps, you'll think of my sass
And how I was on the brink of my prime.

There's the possibility of regret
With feelings of hate;
I hope you go through them all without becoming too upset
Or wondering about the change in my psychological state.

It's not your fault,
It's all my own.
Visit my burial vault --
And remember the times we'd once known.
