In the Darkness

by

Alice Sarmiento

I'm doomed to wander,
On this earth,
In search of myself,
And to find my worth.

I'm pushed around,
And left to cry,
Slowly waiting,
For my time to die.

Verbally scarred,
Emotionally hurt,
I'm flung and I'm thrown,
Like a pile of dirt.

Tears for myself,
Tears for my pain,
What else could I do?
But @#$%^& complain?

I'm hopelessly lost,
Come lead me away,
Or else in the darkness,
Forever I'll stay.
