Ron's Mountain

by

Alice C. Bateman

I've come to examine
Every single rock
Greet the flowers
By their first names

I'm going to sit on this mountain
And let it take stock
Of the things that go on
In my brain

I'm going to rest my soul
On this mountain
Going to leave my cares and troubles
Let the joy well up like a fountain

Going to gaze into my future
The times that are in store
Not let any of the past pain
Affect me any more
