Phantom Lover

by

Alice C. Bateman

The beginning of tomorrow
Won't be just another day
If you're lying here beside me
'Cause you couldn't walk away

We might turn one to the other
My lips might seek your own
We could bring each other comfort
In the still cold light of dawn

Then your fingers, they might touch me
In that place they've come to know
Maybe I would melt around you
As we felt our passion grow

This is huge, what is between us
And it hasn't gone away
I so often think about you
Many times throughout my day

But you are not really with me
Though you're much more than a dream
This is real, this thing between us
Maybe much more than it seems

Phantom Lover, I can love you
In the stillness of my head
Phantom Lover, I would like you
To be really in my bed
