Only Halfway There

by

Alice C. Bateman

I'd kill for one kiss from your lips
I'd die for a hug right this minute
I dream of you every night
I visualize my life
And guess what
You're always in it

I love you
I hate you
I love you again
You're killing me slowly
You're causing me pain

But I have to 'own' it
This pain that I feel
I can't make you suffer
For this pain that's so real

So I'll go on pretending
You mean nothing to me
If that makes you happy
Then you'll never see

How much I love you
How much that I care
Just leave me alone
Don't take me only halfway there
