New Mommy

by

Alice C. Bateman

Where can we find a new Mommy
Now that you have gone away
Where could we find a new Mommy
One who would just love to play

Should we check the Library
The schools and the park
Should we look by the pond at the zoo

I don't know if there even
Would be any chance
Of finding a Mommy like you

We sure miss you, Mommy
We wish you weren't gone
I guess someone needed you more

But if that is true
And we can't have you
Could they send a new Mom to our door?

We need a new Mommy
For hugging and kissing
For a word or a look or a touch

We need a new Mommy
For finding our feelings
Someone we could love very much

We'd have to share Daddy
With our brand new Mommy
But maybe that won't be so bad

We'd have to share Daddy
With any new Mommy
But maybe then we won't be sad
