In A Long Ago Time
by
Alice C. Bateman
When you were my King
And I was your Queen
In a long ago time far away
Did we part without sorrow
And love without lust
In that long away far ago day
Did you bring me much pleasure
Just from seeing your face
Did I always just want you to stay
But encouraged you onwards
To complete all your tasks
Did we ever take time out to play
When you were my Hero
And I your Princess
Did you slay all the dragons we found
Did we solve all the puzzles
And find all the answers
When we covered all of the old ground
Have we met in this lifetime
To spend time together
Or do we just dance round and round
While the world hurts us more
We deny our own core
Let’s explore this deep love that we’ve
found
