Be a Better Man

by

Alice C. Bateman

Well I carry God's Light with me and I spread it all around

I cannot stand to see a mouth with the corners turning down

If me and God can't make you smile then I don't know who can

If you carried God's Light too my friend you would be a better man

There are days that make you happy

And days that make you cry

There are days that make you wonder

Is there any reason why

There are days that make you sing out loud

And days that make you grin

But the days you must watch out for

Are the days that make you sin

Well I carry God's Light with me and I spread it all around

I cannot stand to see a mouth with the corners turning down

If me and God can't make you smile, then I don't know who can

If you carried God's Light too my friend, you would be a better man

There are times you want to travel

And times to stay at home

But you know He's always with you

Even when you want to roam

He is always by your side

Whatever you may do

And He's keeping Heaven shining

For one day to welcome you

Well I carry God's Light with me and I spread it all around

I cannot stand to see a face with the corners turning down

If me and God can't make you smile, then I don't know who can

If you carried God's Light too, my friend, you would be a better man
