A Tiny Inch In Time

By

Alice C. Bateman

Perhaps I've always been a poet

And a teller of the tales

Through many far-flung lifetimes

And long dramatic trails

For maybe just one moment

A tiny inch in time

I may have held you spellbound

With a tiny bit of rhyme

Maybe you were with me

One day I was inspired

Saw the spark that lights up

My eyes when I am tired

A bit of inspiration

A leaf, a flower, a tree

A sunset in the evening

A breath of freshening breeze

Maybe I've always been a poet

But it took you to inspire

The poems that show my hidden heart

That set the page on fire
