A Prayer
by
Alice C. Bateman
I'm always with you when you're gone
And you're still here when I'm alone
We have developed a strong bond
What I have hoped for all along
I am your friend and you are mine
And I thank God we have this time
I care more for you every day
These feelings just won't go away
And I don't want them to, of course
I'm drawn to you with such strong force
And you are drawn to me, I think
I think we're standing on the brink
Of the strongest love that I will know
We're very wise to take it slow
To get to know each other well
To bring us both out of our shell
There is no turning back for me
You are all that I can see
I want to build a life with you
I'm praying that's what you want too
