Footprints Beside Me

As I start down the path
of my life's journey,
I look down to see
some footprints beside me.
I wonder who it can be,
the one that walks beside me.
If the path I choose
turns out to be wrong,
and can't go on any longer,
I look at those footprints,
and feel incredibly stronger.
I believe I know who it must be,
the one that walks beside me.
No matter what I say or do,
you will always be there
my whole life through.
Mom, those footprints belong to you.
