Beautiful!!!

But, once again...watch for unnecessary words:

Consider:

...Hear the melody ... in simplicity ... let the heart see ... poetry in the unskilled hand.

ellipses represent words Iíve omitted.

You wrote:

Does it matter how eloquently words are joined together, more than the feelings they stir?

No, it does not matter to the "unskilled", but the skilled poet (as we all want to be) will know the power of "less is more" and they will use it to "stir" those feelings more effectively.

Good work! I look forward to reading more, Johanna.

>>Does it matter if the words being used are simple or sophisticated, if your heart is touched and your mind beautifully intoxicated?<<

In my opinion we should never mistake a simple work of literature for an unskillful one. To plumb the depths of life's mysteries in simple terms is the hardest and most noble task of all.

Whoever wrote the Bible knew the power of simplicity, and even though most of them were lawyers, so did the framers of the Constitution; so did Lincoln and Shakespeare. You can always tell if a writer is trying to pull the wool over your eyes when the six syllable words kick in.
