If You See Me

By

Chaya Anavi

if you see me
are we so doomed
won't you ever see
you are the empty space in my gloom.
the clouds in the sky
still drift by
and waves still soar high
on the ocean tide
just as the tears whenever I cry.

they're cold for you, my darling
hold me soon under your wing
i'm sold on you, my darling
oh, what will the new moon bring

I'll protect you from a thousand deaths
if you let me in,
when i'm wet no more
and tears cease to drip off my chin.
when i'm wet no more
and you see me for who i am.

will we ever exist
can we never be
i'm wanting you desperately
but you will never see.
there's a good side in me
created by yourself.
you're oh so lovely
and i'm such a whelp.

how will i ever cope
if you will never see
is not there any hope
for a You and Me.
the world is so dark
daylight i have long since seen.
the only flicker that is
but in your heart it lives.
if you will let me in
forever will i be in debt
to a Miracle within.
will it grant me your respect?

for more i could never wish
unless actuality i should kid
but every day it happens
that i act so stupid.
shall i still believe
i could reach such a reality
how long would be the miles
that one day you'll see me.
no, there's not enough fuel in the world
for it to ever be.
oh, but i would give all else
for that most precious moment.
yet it only lives
in the realm of fairy tales.

leaves still fall in autumn
and flowers still bloom in spring.
to all emotion i used to be numb
going from fling to fling.
but now there's this thing

it's about you, my darling
what will this season bring
only happiness to you, my darling
oh, when will the love fairy sing

so young and so tired
all down your body the weariness i could trace
there's so much weight on your shoulders
and so much beauty in your face.
the heavens could never match
the strength in your eyes
nor will the mountains ever reach
the longitude of my sighs

they're all of you, my darling
if only you would see
you're door's still locked, my darling
oh, where will i ever find the key

I'll protect you from a thousand deaths
if you let me in,
when i'm wet no more
and tears cease to drip off my chin.
if you let me in.
if you let me in.
see me, see me,
see me for who i am.
