A Hypocrite, That's All
by
Chaya Anavi

they say she has some courage
to tell such a tale
to reveal such a secret
except one detail
that she's never been on the ledge
never experienced the fall
thinks she's got enough to bawl
but down there
she's never been at all
she translates a horror into something lyrical
of someone all alone and beaten down
but how is she alone if now they know it all
of her courage they are now so proud
i simply find it hypocritical
to mock such a perilous experience
she's never been on the ledge
it possesses no past tense
she's never been there
she's never been there at all
do you fancy this so mysterious
have you not heard of real gore
i do not understand all the fuss
over someone who is a liar
the ledge is no where near
the way it's been described
once you've actually been there
there is no chance to be revived
all these false tears she sheds
they come not from the ledge
they come not from the fall
her story tells of the solitude and fear
yet she takes comfort in them all
she's never been there
the place she speaks of
it is not black, white, or clear
thinks she went through so much
but she's never been there at all
